Uruguay has produced many outstanding percussionists such as Ruben Rada, Jorge Trasante, and Chichito Cabral. Yamandú Pérez is also a renowned player, having been active in groups such as Genesis, Moonlights, and Pareceres in the 1970s before moving into the popular music scene in 1980 and appearing on numerous albums. This album released in 1982 is his only solo album and features the participation of many guests. The entire album is fantastic with each guest bringing a distinct style. Particularly noteworthy are fragrant session “Sin Perder El Tiempo” with Uruguay's iconic singer Eduardo Darnauchans, spiritual percussion piece “La Batea” opening with the sound of water, “Hasta Otra Ola” showcasing exquisite MPU with Jorge Galemire's guitar and Hugo Fattoruso's piano complementing his ever-shifting percussion, our highlight "Llamadas" with Contraviento featuring a mid-section percussion part that's simply incredible, and the folky groove “Y Cómo Te Voy A Decir” with guitarist Rómulo Bogalle, evoking an indigenous spirit. It's coming rare promo edition we've never seen before.
Ruben Rada, Jorge Trasante, Chichito Cabralなど良質なパーカッショ二ストを多数輩出しているウルグアイ。このYamandú Pérezも70年代のGenesis, Moonlights, Pareceresといったグループでの活動から80年以降はポピュラー・ミュージック界へ進出し数多くの作品への参加で知られる名プレイヤーのひとり。本作は多数のゲストが参加し制作された82年のソロ名義唯一作。ゲスト毎にスタイルを変える全編素晴らしい内容ですが、とりわけウルグアイの代表的な歌い手Eduardo Darnauchansとの薫り立つようなセッション”Sin Perder El Tiempo”、水の音から入るスピリチュアルなパーカッションプレイ”La Batea”、変幻自在のパーカッションにJorge GalemireのギターやHugo Fattorusoのピアノが加わり極上のMPUを聴かせる”Hasta Otra Ola”、当店的にハイライトの中盤のパーカッションパートが凄まじいContravientoとの”Llamadas”、土着精神を感じさせるギタリストRómulo Bogalleとのフォーキー・グルーヴ”Y Cómo Te Voy A Decir”は秀逸。最高の一言。今まで見た事のない珍しいプロモ版が入荷できました。
