A duet album featuring vibraphonist/producer Walt Dickerson, a hit-maker across both mainstream and underground scenes, and marks a rare instance of Sun Ra participating in a project outside of his Arkestra. The album was produced following a reunion session after Dickerson had taken a ten-year hiatus from the music world, and Dickerson composed all the tracks. Side A consists almost entirely of vibraphone solos that showcase his awe-inspiring technique, while Side B features Sun Ra’s piano solos, and concludes with the final track “Space Dance” (what a great title!), a duet in which the two musicians engage in a lively exchange of improvisations. Both sides feature superb performances. It is a fascinating, unique entry in Sun Ra’s discography. Original Denmark pressing.
Sun Raがアーケストラ以外で久々に参加した作品として知られるビブラフォン奏者/プロデューサーWalt Dickersonとのデュエット作品。メジャーやアンダーグラウンドまで幅広いヒット・メイカ―であるWalt Dickersonが10年の休養を経てSun Raとの再会セッションが企画され制作されたもので全曲Dickersonが作曲を手掛けている。A面はほとんどがそのテクニックにおののくビブラフォンのソロといった様相で、B面からSun Raのピアノ・ソロが入りラストの”Space Dance”（タイトル最高!）ではお互いのインプロをぶつけ合うようなデュエット曲で締めくくられています。両面共に素晴らしい演奏が刻まれています。異色のSun Ra作品としても楽しめます。デンマークオリジナル。
