Trinidad Island, located in the southern Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean Sea. This album documents the background of strikes related to the labor movement of the 1930s, the social conditions of the time stemming from the Great Depression, and the incident known as the Butler Strike, all portrayed through calypso. It's a shame the lyrics aren't understood, but the 16 rhythmic tracks feature songs woven with irony and humor, accompanied by instruments like guitar, congas, maracas, and bass. An amazing recording reflecting both the golden age of calypso and a difficult era. This format resembles a licensed edition released by P-Vine in 1989, featuring Japanese liner notes, based on the original album released in the US in 1987 from Folklyric Records.
