A compilation album released in 1989 under the theme “New Age Italiana”. This album features four artists each contributing two tracks of Italian-style new age that incorporates Mediterranean elements and romanticism. First and foremost is Attilio Casati's “Etherea,” which defines this work. Attilio Casati is a genuine new age composer, known for his work under the name Atmosphere with Sergio Pisano (also the producer of this album) and his great solo album. This is a truly moving, monumental tune, with floating synth work and an emotional melody that builds to a rousing development in the second half. Also included are "Mailand" by the long-running music collective Venegoni & Co., gentle balearic style "Mediterraneo" by Francesco Prinzivalli, and Attilio Casati's tranquil soundscape "Smoothing". Amazing italian piece.
”New Age Italiana"をテーマに制作された89年のコンピレーションアルバム。凡地中海やロマンシズムを取り入れたイタリア流のニューエイジを計4組のアーティストが二曲ずつ手掛けています。まず何と言ってもこの作品を決定づけるAttilio Casatiによる”Etherea”。Attilio Casatiはこの作品のプロデューサーでもあるSergio PisanoとのAtmosphere名義や素晴らしいソロアルバムも残す生粋のニューエイジ作家。浮かびあがるようなシンセワークとエモーショナルなメロディから後半に高まっていく展開が感動的な特大チューン。その他ご長寿ミュージックコレクティブVenegoni & Co.による”Mailand”、Francesco Prinzivalliなる人物による柔和なバレアリックスタイル”Mediterraneo”、Attilio Casatiの清閑でサウンドスケープを描く”Smoothing”を収録。この時期に聴くとより感情的になりますね。
