A series of cassette releases produced by the British label Touch between 1982 and 1989. This 1985 release, one of the earliest in the series, is considered part of the “Cassette Magazine” series featuring a large-format booklet and recordings by artists aligned with the label’s ethos. It features a lineup of distinctive tracks, ranging from Nocturnal Emissions’ virtual ethnic wave, David Cunningham’s chamber music interspersed with birdsong, and the experimental soundscapes of the alternative group Kill Ugly Pop, to the standout ethno track by Zazou And Bikaye. It is also exceptionally art piece.
1982年から1989年にかけて英Touchが展開していた一連のカセット作品。本作はその最初期である、大判のブックレットにレーベルに共鳴するアーティストの音源が収められカセットマガジンシリーズのひとつに数えられる85年作。Nocturnal Emissionsによる仮想民族ウェーヴ、David Cunninghamによる鳥のさえずり入りの室内楽、オルタナティブ・グループKill Ugly Popによる音響エクスペリメンタル、ハイライトなZazou And Bikayeによるエスノ・ナンバーまで個性的な楽曲が並びます。アート物件としても非常に秀逸な作りです。
