Pianist Tudor Saveanu was born in Bahía Blanca, located southwest of Buenos Aires, Argentina. From around 1985, he performed primarily in Europe particularly in Austria focusing on classical music, while simultaneously pursuing a career in the field of improvisational jazz. This album released by Melopea in 1990 features 9 tracks that incorporate a European avant-garde/free sensibility, utilizing synthesizers and effects in addition to the piano. Tracks A2 “Clouddance” and A4 “Spiral” are particularly outstanding. A Melopea release that is currently undergoing a significant reappraisal. Rare cassette version.
アルゼンチン・ブエノスアイレスの西南に位置するBahia Blanca生まれのピア二ストTudor Saveanu。85年頃からは主にオーストリアなどのヨーロッパにてクラシックを中心に演奏する傍ら並行して即興的なジャズのフィールドでも活動。本作はMelopeaよりリリースされた90年作。ピアノの他シンセサイザー、エフェクターも用いながらヨーロッパ的前衛フリー感覚を取り入れたような全9曲を収録。特にA2”Clouddance”とA4”Spiral”は秀逸。再評価著しいMelopea作品。初めて見たカセット版にて入荷です。
