The first private album released in 1990 by the still active Brazilian guitarist/composer Tato Mahfuz. This album is an instrumental composition co-produced by bass player Celso Pixinga and backed by musicians related to instrumental music. Above all, the sweet tune "Rumo Norte" with female scat and Sem Palavras" with a concentrated sense of saudade that can be likened to the Minas music on B side are best tracks. The rest of the tunes are also full of the warm grooves characteristic of Brazil. Think it will resonate with new age/ambient listeners.
現在も活動を続けるブラジル人ギタリスト/コンポーザーTato Mahfuzが90年にリリースした自主ファーストアルバム。共同プロデュースにベース奏者Celso Pixinga、バッキングにはインストルメンタル・ミュージックに関連するミュージシャンが参加したインスト主体の構成。なんといってもB面に収録されたスキャットを交えたスウィート・チューン”Rumo Norte”、サウダージ感覚を凝縮した様なミナス派にも通じるドラマティックな”Sem Palavras”が出色。それ以外にもブラジル特有の暖かみのあるグルーヴがひしめく良曲揃い。ニューエイジ/アンビエントリスナーにも響くのではと思います。
