Takashi Kokubo, a leading Japanese ambient musician and sound designer. This album, originally released in 2000, was created following a visit to the Yanbaru region in northern Okinawa. It features seven tracks inspired by the powerful energy of the land, shaped by pristine nature and seas surrounded by coral reefs. In addition to the first three tracks, which incorporate field recordings in Kokubo’s signature style, the album includes “Oto Gaeshi, Yanbaru No Mori” on which he provides vocals himself, as well as two heartwarming tracks featuring the vocals of Minehaha, widely known as the “Queen of Commercials”. The album conveys a rare and deeply crafted artistic vision. Rare find.
日本を代表する環境音楽家/音環境デザイナー 小久保隆が沖縄北部の山原(やんばる)地域を訪れ制作した2000年リリース作品。手つかずの自然やサンゴ礁で囲まれた海などで形成されるその土地のパワーをインスピレーションに描いた全7曲を収録。フィールド素材を取り入れた小久保らしい前半3曲に加え、自身がヴォーカルを取る”音返し・山原の森”、CM女王としても広く知られるミネハハのヴォーカルをフィーチャーした心温まる2曲を収録した珍しいかつ力の入った内容が伝わります。あまり見かけません。
