Suso Sáiz, one of Spain's most important radical composer/producer, remains actively engaged today, with his 2024 Japan tour still fresh in memory. You're likely familiar with his masterpieces with Orquesta De Las Nubes and Música Esporádica, as well as the hidden gems among his production work. This 1991 release marks his third solo album, featuring Glen Velez, Jorge Reyes, and multiple vocalists across its 13 tracks. Includes "Sal De Luna" a psychedelic combination of Glen Velez's minimal refrain of tambourine-like instrumental licks and guitar tones, "Sé Que Estás Ahí" features vocalist Cristina Lliso's crystal clear voice and the tones of wind instruments, "De Tierra Húmeda Y Verde" is an intoxicating track with the endless pulse of the earth and accompanied by drone sounds, "Club Global" features a gentle, organic envelopment of guitar and percussion and ritualistic ambient track "Prendas De La Nueva España" with Jorge Reyes. This is a truly magnificent work that can be declared one of the best.
2024年の来日も記憶に新しい現在も精力的に活動するスペイン先鋭派の最重要作曲家/プロデューサーSuso Sáiz。Orquesta De Las NubesやMúsica Esporádicaでの傑作やプロデュース作品にも隠れた良作を残すのはご存知と思います。本作はソロ三作目に当たる91年の作品でGlen Velez, Jorge Reyesはじめ複数のヴォーカルをフィーチャーした全13曲を収録しています。Glen Velezのタンバリンのような楽器リックのミニマルリフレインとギターの音色がサイケデリックに交差する”Sal De Luna”、ヴォーカリストCristina Llisoの透明な歌声と管楽器の音色が浮かび上がってくる”Sé Que Estás Ahí”、大地の鼓動が果てしなく続きドローンサウンドと共に陶酔していく”De Tierra Húmeda Y Verde”、ギターとパーカッションが有機的に包み込む優しい感触”Club Global”、Jorge Reyesとのリチュアル的アンビエント”Prendas De La Nueva España”。ベストの一つと断言できる素晴らしい作品です。
