Composer Sueko Nagayo has been involved in minimal music since her student days, holding independent concerts with such as Somei Satoh and Joe Hisaishi. This is a self-released album from 1977. The A-side is minimal piece “Signification” that aims at pattern synthesis and pattern displacement by four instruments (saxophone, violin, marimba, and piano) with different pronunciation principles. It's kaleidoscopic minimal piece that appears, disappears, and reappears again in a montage. In the second half is minimal ensemble "Kuntu" that uses ethnic instruments, mainly drums, to perform multiple rhythmic patterns. On side B is "Pan" a 1974 recording in which six men and women read out children's songs, nonsense, epic poems, newspaper articles, revolutionary poems, etc., and express them as one song. This is also a spectacular performance. Yuji Takahashi, Mamoru Fujisawa (Joe Hisaishi) are participated. Lovely jacket. Miraculously beautiful condition with obi.
