Luis Alberto Spinetta, the one and only musician and national hero of Argentina, whose birthday, January 23, is celebrated as National Musicians' Day. Starting with Almendra, then Pescado Rabioso, Invisible, Spinetta Jade, and solo works, you know that each work still has a lot of influence. This was an 1980 album that was produced with a lot of expectations and money, with the aim of success in North America. Although more than 100 members participated, it ended up being a failure and is one of Spinetta's most controversial works. However, the songs are still fantastic, with adult oriented sound that is more sexy and sophisticated. Includes “Omens Of Love,” a Gino Vannelli cover with intoxicating vocals, sentimental our favorite “George's Surprise”, best captures Spinetta's style “Something Beautiful” with its unique singing, and and "Children Of The Bells" is mellow and dripping with longing. The balance of each song is also very well done. In our opinion, this is one of his best albums. It is always great to listen to.
生誕日である1月23日はナショナル・ミュージシャン・デイとして祝されるというアルゼンチンの国民的英雄にして唯一無二の音楽家Luis Alberto Spinetta。Almendraから始まり、Pescado Rabioso、Invisible、Spinetta Jadeそしてソロ名義とその作品群は現在においても多くの影響を与えているのはご存知だと思います。本作は多くの期待と資金が投入され北米での成功を見据えて制作された80年作。実に100人以上のメンバーが参加したものの結果的には失敗に終わりスピネッタの作品でも賛否両論がなされるひとつとなっています。しかしながらその楽曲群はやはり素晴らしく色気と洗練がより増したアダルト・オリエンテッドなサウンドを随所に聞かせてくれます。Gino Vannelliのカバーでヴォーカルに酔いしれる”Omens Of Love”、センチメンタルな当店フェィバリット”George's Surprise”、独特な歌いまわしでスピネッタらしさを一番感じさせてくれる”Something Beautiful”、思慕が滴るようなメロウネス”Children Of The Bells”。各曲のバランスも非常によくできた仕上がりと感じます。当店的にはベストのひとつに挙げたい作品です。いつ聞いても素晴らしい。
