Edwin "Smokey" Haangala, a singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from Zambia. After forming a band in college and continuing to play after getting a job, he released several singles, which led to a request for a full album, and this is his debut album. His distinctive style which heavily features early use of a rhythm box and accordion is fused with his roots in zamrock and folk, resulting in a unique sound. Particularly outstanding are the zamrock tune "Tulondoke" with its exquisite harmony of cheap rhythm box use and melancholic vocals, and psychedelic folk tune "Iwe Maliya" which incorporates acid-tinged electronic elements, however, his pastoral and uniquely sung folk numbers are also recommended. It’s absolutely interesting lo-fi piece. There are occasional pops from marks and light scratches, but it's in top condition we think. The jacket is also in nice African condition with no tears or split.
