The sole album and masterpiece by Sexteto Do Beco, a large ensemble formed in Bahia, Brazil’s music capital, that reportedly grew to include as many as 18 members. Featuring all original compositions by key members such as Thomas Gruetz, Aderbal Duarte, Sérgio Souto, the album captures the majestic performances of this unique chamber ensemble, which includes soprano saxophone, multiple flutes, saxophones, trumpet, trombone, and a rhythm section. In addition to "Flutuando" and "Kiua" two tracks also featured on the 1988 album by singer/composer Andréa Daltro, who has seen a significant resurgence in popularity in recent years, and don't miss the B-side, which includes the soulful jazz ensemble "Águas Cristalinas" and graceful Brazilian groove of "Cantilena". This album is packed with superb performances that transcend the independent scene. Although this is the only work they left behind, they reportedly continued performing throughout the 1980s. Original in excellent condition.
