Sergio Otanazetra, a percussionist from Bahia, released this album in 1983 during his activity in France. He also released a library album in the same year, but this one is from a series of ethnic works titled "New Continents". Sergio himself composed all the music, and the diverse sounds are performed by many performers, primarily local Brazilian musicians. Highlights include the primitive title track, which features berimbau, cuica, conga, effects, and tabla, and the elegant "Mata Virgem" which features female vocals. He was also a member of Devas, known for their collaborations with Carioca. Amazing.
