Seijin Noborikawa, one of the leading singers of Okinawan Min'yō. Also a master of the sanshin, he is known for his rapid-fire playing and for using a pick to play the instrument, earning him the nickname “Okinawa's Jimi Hendrix”. He is a pillar of Min'yō song world who has contributed to its development in every way, including modifying instruments and incorporating them into Min'yō songs. This work is a collection of dance songs released by the prestigious label Marufuku. It begins with the “Nubuikuduchi” and “Kudaikuduchi” passed down since the 17th century, followed by the narrated performance of Sousaku(creative) Butoh “Agikuduchi”, popular “Hatoma bushi”, a song that became known on the main island for its fast-picking style when performed as Yaeyama Min'yō, the “Agituikuten bushi” with vocal variations praying for a bountiful harvest, and “Shūnubujyo Bushi” which explores the relationship between commoners and officials with female vocals. It allows you to fully savor the essence of Okinawan Min'yō. Incidentally, “Seiguwa-” is a nickname for Nobukawa due to his petite frame. Even now, he continues to make a significant impact, as evidenced by the release this year of his final recording with Misako Oshiro, made in 2012.

沖縄民謡を代表する歌い手のひとり登川誠仁。三線の名手でもあり早弾きを得意としピックを使って三線を演奏する「沖縄のジミヘン」の異名を持ち、また楽器を改良して民謡に取り入れるなどあらゆる面で民謡の発展に貢献してきた重鎮。本作はマルフクよりリリースした舞踏曲集。17世紀より歌い継がれる”上り口説”, "下り口説"にはじまり創作舞踊”揚口説”の語り弾き、八重山民謡が本島では早弾調で演奏されるようになったという人気曲”鳩間節”、歌いまわしが最高な豊作を祈る”揚作田節”、民衆と役人の関係を女性ヴォーカルと交える”収納奉行”など沖縄民謡の真髄を心ゆくまで味わえます。ちなみに"セイ小 (セイグヮー)"は小柄な身体から来るあだ名です。今年にも大城美佐子との遺作となった2012年録音作品がリリースされるなど現在も大きな存在感を示しています。
