Australian sound artist Ros Bandt, who has multiple faces as a sound designer, musicologist and designer, continues to perform as a pioneer. This 1989 CD work was completed over a period of seven years, exploring resonance in a five-storey underground car park with a large hollow concrete cylinder. It is a stunning sound space where recorders, psalteries, bells, cymbals, kalimbas, PVC pipes, music boxes and other instruments resonate and come at you like a drone. Especially T4/T7/T10 with psalteries, kalimbas and synthesizers are impressive.
サウンドデザイン、音楽学者、デザイナーなど複数の顔を持ち現在もパフォーマンスを続けるオーストラリア人サウンドアーティストRos Bandt。本作は大きな中空のコンクリートシリンダーがある地下5階の駐車場にて共鳴を探りながら約7年の歳月をかけて完成された89年のCD作品。リコーダー、プサルテリー、ベル、シンバル、カリンバ、PVCパイプ、オルゴールなどが独特の響きを持ってドローンのように迫ってくる圧巻の音空間。特にプサルテリー、カリンバ、シンセサイザーを使ったT4/T7/T10は音の粒を感じるような迫力。是非大きな音で聞いてみて下さい。
