Rodolfo Alchourron has been active in the early days of Argentine jazz, and is known as a composer and arranger who explored a wide range of jazz expression. This album was released as collection of tracks beased he played live when moved to New York in 1978 and was experimenting with jazz and South American rhythms, adding his own melodies. It starts from folklore jazz "Telelito" with ingenious arrangement, followed by "Seven Dwarfs" with female scat and heart-stirring second half, "Cantinho" with meloncholic start and fantastical and powerful performance, and "Raccoon's Meeting" with its elegant and captivating development. All tracks are ace. Of course his works from the '70s are great, but be sure to take a look at the works he produced during his New York period.
