Primitive Community, a one-off project led by Toshiaki Yokota, who was known as a young flutist at the time. As shown in the liner note, several years before this production, legendary drummer Akira Ishikawa visited Africa and absorbed as much local music as possible to bring inspiration to his production, in this way, this was also produced at a time when rock music was variously derived and the style of new rock was being discussed. Yokota's few flute tones and 6 percussionists play rhythmically 'n' densely are the core, and organ, electric bass, guitar, etc. are integrated with African music. In particular, "Forbidden Ritual", "Savannah" and "Black Narcissus" composed by Toshiaki Yokota are filled with a mysterious yet fertile sound as if his thoughts were possessed. It's a 180g red vinyl edition master pressed with a limited edition of 400 copies in 2013 that faithfully reproduces the original. We would love to see the original someday.

当時は若手フルート奏者として知られていた横田年昭が率いたワンオフプロジェクトPrimitive Community。ライナーに示されているように、この制作から数年前にドラマー石川晶がアフリカを訪れ現地の音楽をありったけ吸収し作品にインスピレーションをもたらしたように、ロックが様々に派生してニュー・ロックというスタイルが語られていた頃に生み出された作品。横田のフルート、総勢6人のパーカッショ二ストによるリズミカルかつ濃密な演奏を軸に、オルガン、エレクトリック・ベース、ギター等が一体となったアフリカンミュージックとの融合。とりわけ横田年昭作曲の”禁じられた儀式”, "サバンナ", "ブラック・ナルシス"は彼の想いが憑り移ったかのような怪しくも豊饒な響きに満ちています。オリジナルを忠実に再現した2013年の400部限定のマスター盤プレッシングが施された180g赤盤。いつかオリジナルを拝んでみたいものです。
