Other Music, an avant group formed in the Bay Area during the 70s, centered around American gamelan. This second album released in 1983, features 6 tracks where many members incorporated synthesizers, pushing the sound further. Including “The Spirit Is Willing" start from the ethereal resonance of the hammered dulcimer then sways minimally and builds intoxication, “Music With Too Many Parts” evoking miniature garden scenes as if played on toy instruments, delicate and charming ensemble of “Incidents Out Of Context”. Amazing thoughout.
アメリカンガムランを中心に添え70年代のベイエリアで結成された前衛グループOther Music。この二作目となる83年作では多くのメンバーがシンセサイザーを取り入れさらなる拡張を推し進めた全6曲を収録。ハンマードダルシマーの幻想的な響きからミニマルに揺れ陶酔感を増していく”The Spirit Is Willing”、トイ楽器を演奏したように箱庭風景を想わすサウンドスケープ”Music With Too Many Parts”、繊細で愛らしいアンサンブルを奏でる”Incidents Out Of Context”。全曲最高～！名作。
