Travel writer/ethnomusicologist Reiko Shima has compiled a collection of playful songs and lullabies of the black people of the Caribbean, Africa, and Brazil, using field recordings and photographs. Introducing a variety of songs that have been passed down from each country, blending the sound of cars, chirping birds, and laughter into everyday life, while also delving into Negro rhythms from the slave era, colonial era, and independence. Audio clips are a rhythm song by Tam Tam from Senegal, a medley of Haitian children's songs, a cultivation song sung with a percussion group, Enrique Blanco from Dominica, etc. The booklet with photos and lyrics is also a must-see.
紀行作家/民族音楽研究家 志摩麗子がカリブ、アフリカ、ブラジル各国のブラックピープルに伝わる遊び歌と子守歌を現地録音とフォトグラフィーにてまとめ上げた一枚。車の走行音、鳥のなき声、笑い声なども入り混じる生活の一部に溶け込みながら各国に伝わる様々な曲を紹介しながら、同時に奴隷時代、植民地時代、独立に至るニグロ・リズムにも迫る力のこもった内容となっています。視聴はセネガルのタムタムによるリズムソング、ハイチの子供の歌メドレーにパーカッション隊と歌う栽培の歌、ドミニカのエンリケ・ブランコなどなど。写真と歌詞の載ったブックレットも必見。
