Mitsuhiro Sakakibara, a jazz pianist/composer born in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. After graduating from the prestigious Berklee College of Music with a degree in jazz composition and arranging, he worked in various musical fields based on Sendai, including film, theater, TV, radio, and produced works, while composing the train melody for Sendai Station and being a key member of a free jazz festival, and is known for his efforts to develop the music scene in the Tohoku region. "Clouds In The Water" is self-released work in 1989. The title track "Clouds In The Water" filled with ambience, was used as the closing music for Miyagi Television, also includes "Dancing Fairy" with a variety of soundscapes, exquisite solo piano tune "First Light" thats appears to blend in with the surroundings, as well as other smooth jazz and fusion tunes. It can be listened to by jazz, classical, and environmental music fans alike, produced with professional quality, unlike private recordings released by amateur musicians. The artwork is also excellent.
宮城県・仙台市生まれのジャズピアニスト/作曲家 榊原光裕。名門バークリー音楽大学のジャズ作編曲科を卒業後は地元仙台を中心に映画、劇場、TV、ラジオ、プロデュース作品等様々な音楽関係に従事しながら、仙台駅の発車メロディの作曲や無料のジャズフェスティバルの主要メンバーとして東北の音楽シーンの発展に努めた人物として知られています。本作は89年に自主制作にてリリースされたレコード作品。ミヤギテレビのクロージング音楽に採用されたアンビエンスに満ちたタイトル曲”水の彩”を筆頭に、多彩なサウンドスケープを描く”踊る妖精”、繊細で周りと溶け込んでいくようなピアノソロ曲”マヤ”、他にもスムーズジャズやフュージョン調の楽曲まで収録。アマチュアミュージシャンがリリースしたプライベート盤とは違うプロのクオリティにて制作されたジャズ～クラシック～環境音楽ファンまで聞いて頂ける作品となっています。アートワークも素晴らしい。
