Jazz pianist Miro Takebi. He taught himself to play the piano, ran a jazz live house in Sapporo, and in 1984 moved to New York, where he established his current musical style including opening the first Japanese-owned jazz club of the same name in the city. Since returning to Japan, he has continued to perform actively in places such as Yakushima and Kobe. It's unclear whether this album was recorded before his move to New York, this private gem recorded in Tokyo in 1984 as part of a trio featuring Ponta Murakami and Makoto Saito (known as “Kujira”). The album features 6 original tracks ranging from ballads to emotional pieces with the drums and bass playing in perfect harmony, as if accompanying his captivating, emotionally rich piano playing. It’s simply quality release that defies belief that it was self-produced. Pristine condition. Rare.
