Australian percussionist Michael Askill, principal percussionist of the string orchestra and known for his Synergy Percussion project since the 70s and activities with Southern Crossings alongside Michael Atherton, presents this 1987 work. This album features performances of four compositions by Australian composers. The album begins with "Omphalo Centric Lecture" a kaleidoscope of ever-changing developments assembled from marimba, slit drums, cymbals, shakers and "White Knight and Beaver" showcasing a playful and experimental feeling featuring the Fairlight CMI synthesizer. Side B features the mystical “How The Stars Were Made,” employing a multitude of percussion instruments, and the marimba solo “Marimba Dances”. While Side A is particularly excellent, the entire album is thoroughly rewarding. Released on the private label that also released the aforementioned work by Michael Atherton.
How The Stars Were Made”とマリンバのソロ演奏”Marimba Dances”をB面に収録。
