Masos, a project centered around Samir Menaceri and Roxana Flores, both of whom were active at CIIMM, an independent institution that played a pivotal role in the research, documentation, and promotion of electroacoustic music, contemporary music, and multimedia art in Mexico from the 1970s and 1980s onwards. A project that pursued an experimental approach contrasting with their work under the Industrial moniker, Interface. Taking advantage of the research institute setting and utilizing state-of-the-art equipment of the time, this release features 6 tracks that make extensive use of metallic noise, dark drones, and irregular sequences, all of which vividly convey the artists’ spirit of exploration. 1970年代から1980年代以降のメキシコにおける電子音響音楽や現代音楽、マルチメディア・アートの先駆的な研究・記録・普及において重要な役割を果たしたインディペンデントな機関「CIIMM」で活動していたSamir MenaceriとRoxana Floresを中心としたグループMasos。インダストリアル名義Interfaceとは対となる実験的アプローチを追求したプロジェクト。研究機関という環境を利用し当時の最先端の機材を用いながらも、彼らの探求心をひしひしと感じさせる金属的なノイズやダークなドローン、不規則なシーケンスが多用された全6曲を収録。超久々にの入荷。やっぱりヤバい。。
