The first album in 1979 by Mar Revolto, a seven-member group formed in Bahia and based in Rio, where they left two albums. The music is an interesting mix of diverse elements typical of Bahia with glimpses of modern taste. Among the best tracks are the beautiful, flowing Afro-folklore "Contendas De Sincorá", soft organic ensemble "Sabendo" and the indigenous Candomblé-esque "Simples Agreste." Aalso plenty of danceable tracks included. The cover, which seems to represent their worldview is also lovely.
バイーアにて結成されリオに拠点を移しながら2枚のアルバムを残した7人組グループMar Revoltoによる79年のファーストアルバム。バイーアらしい多様な要素が混ざり合ったスタイルにモダンなテイストも垣間見える面白い音楽性。中でも流れるような美しいアフロ・フォルクローレ”Contendas De Sincorá”、柔らかな有機アンサンブル”Sabendo”、カンドンブレ的土着センスを感じさせる”Simples Agreste”は秀逸。他にもダンサンブルな楽曲までしっかり収録しています。彼らの世界観を表したようなジャケも素敵。
