Luiz Bonfá, a leading Brazilian bossa nova musician active since the 1940s, is a unique guitarist who simultaneously weaves bass, chords, and melody with just six strings and ten fingers. This album was released in 1957, shortly before his move to the United States. Perhaps influenced by Debussy's Bohemian, or perhaps reflecting the atmosphere of the time, it doesn't prominently feature Brazilian rhythms, instead consisting of relaxed, melody-centered guitar pieces. One of Bonfá's works we want to listen to now. Not yet released on CD.
