1969 release work by the pioneering ensemble Los Hermanos Castro, formed by Mexican composer and arranger Arturo Castro, active since the 1950s and his brothers, combining exceptional vocals and arrangements. This underrated gem features a comfortable lineup of songs ranging from bossa nova to ballads and covers, including originals with a classical feel yet solidly executed. Highlights include A1/B3, where vocals blend with melancholic Latin mellow, and the cover of Joege Ben's “Por Usted” notable for its elegant orchestration. The entire album is amazing. 50年代より活動するメキシコの作編曲家Arturo Castroが兄弟達と結成した卓越したヴォーカルとアレンジメントを併せ持った先駆的アンサンブルLos Hermanos Castroによる69年の作品。クラシカルな雰囲気を残しつつもしっかりとした演奏フォームによるオリジナル曲を含むボサノバからバラード、カバー曲まで心地よい楽曲が並ぶ知られざる好盤。特に哀愁のラテンメロウにヴォーカルが加わるA1/B3や優雅なオーケストレーションも印象的なJoege Benのカバー”Por Usted”はハイライト。全編素晴らしい。視聴多めに録ってあるので是非聞いてみて下さい。
