Leo Maslíah, Uruguay’s foremost eccentric musician, is known for a series of works that humorously blend popular music, classical, jazz, electronic music, more. This album was released in 1986 on Ayuí, one of Uruguay's most iconic labels. First off, "Montevideo-Cassette" which perfectly encapsulates the signature Maslíah style where piano, drum machines, and vocals are layered in a way that makes the rhythms seem to tangle and intertwine. Following that, the entire album is simply amazing, featuring “Punc” where the opening vocals and other instruments intertwine like a kaleidoscope, piano cover of Daniel Vigliett track “Gurisito” and unsettling spoken-word piece “Meta Lenguaje”. Numbered-edition pressing in excellent condition. Rare find.
ポピュラー音楽、クラシック、ジャズ、電子音楽等をユーモアにブレンドした一連の作品群で知られるウルグアイ随一の奇才Leo Maslíah。本作はウルグアイを代表するレーベルのひとつAyuiからリリースの86年作。まずリズムがもつれるようにピアノ、リズムマシーン、声が次々に打ち込まれるMaslíah節が最高潮に達している9分を超える”Montevideo-Cassette”がヤバい。続いて冒頭のヴォーカルとその他楽器が万華鏡を見るように絡み合う”Punc”、Daniel Vigliettiをピアノでカバーした”Gurisito”、不穏な語り弾き”Meta Lenguaje”など全編やはり最高。ナンバードプレス美品の部類。なかなか出ません。お見逃しなく。
