1991 cassette release by unknown Argentina jazz-rock band La Banda Latina. It's assumed that the group was formed by saxophonist Víctor Skorupski and multi-instrumentalist Willy González, who are still active today, in their younger days. The entire album contains excellent with neat playing form, inherited mellowness, and a sense of balance. In particular, the mellow, swaying jazz rock tune "Kokó", full of meloncholic "Ojitos Cafe" reminiscent of Alberto Favero, and swinging smooth jazz number "Despedida" make a good impression. The composition is not flashy, but the calmness of the music is also very pleasing.
知られざるアルゼンチンのジャズロックバンドLa Banda Latinaによる91年のカセットリリース。現在も活動しているサックス奏者Víctor Skorupskiやマルチ奏者Willy Gonzálezが若かりし頃に結成していたグループと推測されます。ローカルのレベルの高さを表す端正な演奏フォーム、継承されるメロウネス、バランス感覚を備えた秀逸な楽曲を全編に収録。とりわけメロウに揺れるジャズロックを聞かせる”Kokó”、Alberto Faveroにも通じるようなメロンコリックな”Ojitos Cafe”、滑らかにスィングするスムースジャズナンバー”Despedida”。派手さはなくしっとりとした楽曲構成も好印象。
