Jazz pianist Kei McNamara has been active primarily in Europe and America since the 70s. Since the 90s, she has been based in Sweden and appears to be still actively performing today. This is self-released album that was quietly released in 1985. Side A features a fusion/pop style arrangement including vocal tracks and compositions by McNamara herself. Side B contains standard numbers centered around Duke Ellington's cover. The performance is delightful, conveying a sense of power within a delicate touch. Both sides are well worth listening to. Recent underrated praivate piece.
70年代よりヨーロッパやアメリカを中心に活動してきたジャズピアニストKei McNamara。90年代からはスウェーデンを拠点に現在も元気に活動しているご様子。本作は85年にひっそりとリリースされていた自主制作盤。A面は自身作曲の楽曲を含むヴォーカルも入るフュージョン～ポップ調の構成。B面はDuke Ellingtonの楽曲を中心としたスタンダード・ナンバーを収録。繊細なタッチの中にも力強さを感じる演奏が心地よいです。どちらも聴き応えあります。近頃密かに注目を浴びている作品です。
