Jorge Trasante, one of Uruguay's leading percussionists. He is well known for collaboration with Eduardo Mateo, and in his exile in France, he has been involved in works by Jaime Roos, Don Cherry, Ramuntcho Mata, Anacrusa, Guy Cuevas, Gipsy Kings and his visionary sound creations have been highly praised throughout the ages. This is a cassette work released in 1993 by the prestigious Uruguayan label Ayui. It also features crossover sound with variety tones using candombe, congas, murba, bongos, cowbells and other instruments. The title track "Kalimba y Cuero" which is over 10 minutes long and dyed in psychedelia, the primitive percussion number "Kandimba" with Roberto Darvin, who also collaborated, and fusion number "Los de Afuera" which is woven with elegant and diverse sounds. The whole album is sure to impress. Extremely rare.
ウルグアイを代表する打楽器奏者のひとりJorge Trasante。Eduardo Mateoとの共作、亡命先のフランスではJaime Roos, Don Cherry, Ramuntcho Mata, Anacrusa, Guy Cuevas, Gipsy Kings等の作品に関わりその先見性のある音作りは時代を超えて評価されています。本作はウルグアイ名門Ayuiからリリースされた93年のカセット作品。今作でもカンドンベ、コンガ、ムルバ、ボンゴ、カウベル等を用いながら多様な音色に彩られたクロスオーヴァーサウンドを展開。10分を超えるゆったりとサイケデリアに染められていく様なタイトル曲”Kalimba y Cuero”、共作も残すRoberto Darvinとのプリミティブなパーカッション・ナンバー”Kandimba”、優雅で多様な音が織り込まれたフュージョン・ナンバー”Los de Afuera”を収録。全編間違いないです。稀少な作品となっています。
