Los Que Iban Cantando was a collective of Uruguayan solo artists active for many years, as part of the resistance movement against the military dictatorship, they incorporated humor and experimentalism into a sound influenced by Latin American folk music, tango, and murga. This is 1979 debut solo album by one of members, SSW Jorge Lazaroff. The album features addictive folklore-inspired tracks that showcase Uruguay’s experimental side, incorporating various percussion instruments and guest vocals. Led by tasteful acoustic-style track “El Afilador”, duet with Cecilia Prato singing Brazilian and Uruguayan folklore "Calix Bento / Coplas De 'El Paraguay'" and the richly textured experimental folclore track “Cuando Me Muera”, it possesses an indescribable groove that feels comforting. A numbered release from Ayui.
