American guitarist/music educator John Heussenstamm. Born into a musical family, he was a member of Deniece Williams' band, opening for many famous bands of the Motown era, before moving to Australia, where he continued to make a name for himself and, after returning to the United States, continued to work primarily as a music teacher. This work is one of three pieces he left behind at the end of his Australian period. A set of 6 meditative new age type pieces incorporating instruments such as tabla and santoor, with glimpses of influences from India, where he studied. Particularly outstanding are “Beings” like a expressing a sublime atmosphere, and ethnic new age track “Alone For A Day” woven from guitar, guiro-like percussion sounds, synth. Original cassette.
