French label Le Kiosque d'Orphée has released many releases centering on folk, traditional and pop music since the 70's. At the same time, it seems that the artists were releasing avant-garde and experimental music on a small scale, even though it was funded by them. This single by Jinx, which appears to be a local group, is one such example. The double-sider "Rêve Inconscient" features ethereal vocals and synths over a lo-fi beat, while cold wave-type "Too Late" with good rough performance. The intriguing jacket is also amazing.
70年代を境にフォーク、トラディショナル、ポップ ミュージックを中心に多くのリリースを重ねたフランスのレーベルLe Kiosque d'Orphée。同時にアーティストが資金提供をする形ながらも前衛的で実験的な音楽を小さな規模ながらリリースをしていたようです。このローカルグループと思われるJinxのシングルもそのひとつ。Lo-fi感覚のビートの上に幽玄なヴォーカルとシンセが覆う”Rêve Inconscient”と粗削りな演奏がいい具合のCold Wave調”Too Late”のダブルサイダー。ジャケの体裁まで最高なやつです。
