Since this album, Andalusian musician Francisco Javier Sánchez González has continued his wide-ranging activities in pursuit of global melodies. This 1988 album is his only remaining analog work. Inspired by the legacy of Al-Andalus, the Spanish civilization under Islamic rule, this work pays homage to the fusion of spirituality and science that existed in this bygone era. A grand oriental tapestry woven by blending acoustic instruments like the ney, violin, oud, bendir, and daf with computer systems. A crystallization of sound exceeding 40 minutes, directly resonating with John Hassell's Fourth World. True masterpiece.
