Igor Savin, a leading musician and keyboardist from the former Yugoslavia, active from the late 1960s until his death in 2024, composed numerous film scores, theater music, ballet scores, and orchestral works. Also known as a pioneer of electronic music in the country, this 1979 disco/funk work represents his artistic period. The backing features an all-star ensemble including trumpeter Stanko Selak, bassist Miljenko Prohaska, drummer Silvije Glojnarić, and saxophonist Stjepan Mihaljinec. Synthesizers, horn arrangements, tight playing, and addictive grooves fuse seamlessly to create a modern sound, includes highlights like “YU Disco Express” and “Alfa” plus the organic electronics track “Let Malog Erosa”. Alongside his 1982 ambient work “Childhood,” this stands as one of his defining albums. 1979 Original. A2 has small scratch that affects the sound as click noise, but it doesn't seem too significant. 60年代後半より活動し24年に亡くなるまで幾多の映画/演劇/バレエ音楽/オーケストラ作品を手掛けた旧ユーゴスラビア (現クロアチア)を代表する音楽家/鍵盤奏者Igor Savin。同国の電子音楽のパイオニアとしても知られ本作はそのアーティスト期に当たる79年のディスコ/ファンク作品。バッキングにはトランペット奏者Stanko Selak, ベーシストMiljenko Prohaska, ドラマーSilvije Glojnarić, サックス奏者Stjepan Mihaljinecといったオールスター・アンサンブルな面々が参加。シンセサイザー、ホーンアレンジ、タイトな演奏フォーム、中毒性あるグルーヴがシームレスに融合しモダンなサウンドを作り上げています。ハイライトの”YU Disco Express”や”Alfa”に有機エレクトロニクス”Let Malog Erosa”を収録。82年のアンビエント作品”Childhood”と共に彼を代表する作品のひとつ。長年稀少となっているオリジナル版。A1からA2にかけてライン状のスクラッチありA2で音に出ますがそこまで大きくはない印象、それ以外は良好なコンデションの部類です。視聴ご確認ください。
