1988 release by Portuguese singer Eugénia Melo e Castro. While the majority of the album consists of cover songs that show respect for Brazilian music, the title track is a collaboration with Caetano Veloso, and other tracks feature guest appearances by Wagner Tiso and Zeca Assumpção. Even without these guest appearances, the album is a collection of amazing songs featuring her compelling, soulful vocals. From fado to enchanting soul-jazz, the entire album is excellent. It deserves more attention and it's also reasonably priced.
ポルトガル人シンガーEugénia Melo e Castroによる88年リリース作品。ブラジル音楽へのリスペクトを感じさせるカバー曲が大半を占める構成ですがCaetano Velosoとの共作となる表題曲, その他Wagner TisoやZeca Assumpçãoといった面々がゲスト参加していますが、それを抜きにしても説得力のあるウエットな歌声による素晴らしい楽曲群。ファッドからうっとりするソウルジャズのような曲まで全編充実してます。値段もお手頃なもっと注目されてもいい良作です。
