Dudley-Brian Smith, a core member of the recently discovered American Louisiana-based folk-rock group Charmer, left the group and released this 7-inch EP in 1983. A total of 4 songs that seem to reflect his different tastes, starting with the exhilarating synth pop "The 11th Hour Tango", followed by the new wave style "(Don't Be An ) Angry Young Man” and our recommended B side featured synth-pop track "Just A Lullabye" with accented hammer-beat drumming and Balearic feel track"Written On The Wing". Quality. The handmade jacket is also tasteful.
近年発掘されたアメリカ・ルイジアナを拠点に活動していたフォーク・ロック・グループCharmerの中心メンバーDudley-Brian Smithがグループを離れリリースしていた83年の7インチEP。彼のまた違った趣味が反映されたような全4曲を収録していて、まず爽快なシンセポップ”The 11th Hour Tango”に始まり、電子音が纏うニューウェーヴ調の”(Don't Be An) Angry Young Man”、そしてハンマービートのようなドラミングがアクセントのシンセポップ”Just A Lullabye”、バレアリック雰囲気の”Written On The Wing”を収録したB面が注目。もしかしてこの路線でもよかったんじゃ？と思わせるようなクオリティな4曲。お手製のジャケットもグッド。
