Claudia, a Brazilian singer who has released a different style album, such as the 1980 album featuring Hermeto Paschoal, Chico Medori as arranger, which we have also introduced. This album contains a lot of danceable funk/soul tunes that seem to respond to the disco boom. The album features a number of well-developed groovy tracks, including the obscure samba tune "Ana Cor De Cana" with its unique vocals, the powerful Latin funk tune "Reza, Tambor E Raça" and strange tune "Vai Baby" that changes from a rock-like flow to samba style. It’s a complete work, no fillers.
当店でもご紹介したHermeto PaschoalやChico Medoriがアレンジャーとして参加した80年作などリリース毎ごとに違った作風を展開してきたブラジリアンシンガーClaudia。本作ではディスコブームにも呼応したようなダンサンブルなファンク/ソウル曲をこれでもかと収録しています。中でも独特なヴォーカルが印象的なオブスキュア・サンバ調の”Ana Cor De Cana”、パワフルなラテン・ファンク”Reza, Tambor E Raça”、ロック風な流れからサンバに変化していくストレンジな”Vai Baby”を筆頭にしっかり展開も練られたグルーヴィな楽曲が並びます。捨て曲も見当たらない完成された作品です。
