The only album from 1984 by Chateau, a minor four piece group believed to have been active around Tampa, Florida. The sound is in the tradition of American fusion music as represented by Pat Metheny, but the performance and compositional abilities of the musicians are astonishing. lush sound journey “Breakers” that begins with the sound of the ocean, and amazing meloncolic fusion of “The Book” are hard to believe that this is a self-produced album. The recording is also clear. No doubt someone has tried to reissue this, but this is a hidden treasure that has yet to be released.
フロリダ・タンパ周辺で活動していたと推測される4人組マイナーグループChateauによる84年の唯一作。Pat Methenyに代表されるアメリカン・フュージョンの伝統を受け継いだサウンドですがその演奏力や構成力に驚かされる楽曲の数々を収録。海の音を再現した冒頭から始まる瑞々しいサウンドジャーニー”Breakers”やメロンコリック・フュージョン”The Book”で聴けるサウンドは自主制作とは信じられないです。録音も非常にクリア。間違いなくリイシューに動いた方がいるとは思いますが未だにされていない秘宝盤。
