1980 demo flexi single by Chance Operation has gained renewed acclaim for its No Wave sound fusing post-punk, funk, jazz. Side A features odd-style jazz funk like “Kaspar Hauser Now” while the standout B-side “Receivin'” is a warm, home-recorded style post-punk track blending saxophone, bucket-like percussion, drums, more. Underrated.
ポストパンク、ファンク、ジャズを融合させたNo Waveサウンドで近年再発もされるなど再評価されるChance Operationによる80年のデモシングル。A面では脱力ジャズファンクみたいな”カスパー・ハウザー・ナウ”、注目B面のサックス、バケツを叩くようなパーカッション、ドラム等が交わる温かみのある宅録ポストパンク調”Receivin'”が最高。う～んいいです。
