Norwegian composer/flautist Øystein Sevåg, a core member of the jazz group Celeste, which also includes Erik Wøllo, and has produced a number of excellent productions. This is the only work by the four-piece jazz band Libido, one of which he produced. The standsout tracks are ambient/balearic feel that is also present in Erik Wøllo's works, particularly "Homeward Bound" which depicts a soundscape that brings to mind the vast nature of Northern Europe, quality ethno smooth jazz "Tidal Chant" and "Flowers From Algernon 1&2," which has enchanting sparkling jazz sounds. Little-known amazing Norwegian piece exudes sophistication and indigenousness.
Erik Wølloもメンバーに連ねるジャズグループCelesteの中心メンバーでもあり優れたプロデュース作品を生み出してきたコンポーザー/フルート奏者Øystein Sevåg。本作はそのひとつとなる4人組ジャズバンドLibidoによる唯一作。なんといっても注目がErik Wøllo作品にも通じるアンビエント/バレアリック調の楽曲で、北欧の広大な自然が目に浮かぶようなサウンドスケープを描く”Homeward Bound”、上質なエスノ・スムース・ジャズ”Tidal Chant”、煌めくジャズの響きにうっとりする”Flowers From Algernon 1&2”が特に秀逸。洗練と土着を感じる極上の作品です。素晴らしい。
