Carlos Fariñas, an electronic musician who, alongside Leo Brouwer and Juan Blanco, has been engaged in the development and experimentation with domestically produced electroacoustic systems in Cuba since the 1960s, creating his own unique brand of avant-garde music. This work, released in 1981, is believed to be his only solo album. It features two tracks on both sides: “Madrigal,” which transitions from a poetry recitation to a second half layered with electronic pulses and solemn sounds amid abstract textures, and “Aguas Territoriales,” a surging, raw track utilizing the sound of water, drones, and gloomy electronic tones. The soundscape, which builds in intensity with each passing moment, is truly remarkable. While many examples are in poor condition, we stock a copy in truly exceptional condition.
Leo BrouwerやJuan Blancoと並び60年代よりキューバで国産電子音響システムの開発と実験に取り組み独自の前衛音楽を生み出した電子音楽家Carlos Fariñas。本作は単独作品では唯一と思われる81年の作品。アブストラクトな響きの中でポエトリー部から電子パルスや荘厳な音響が重なる後半部へ移る”Madrigal”、水の音、ドローン、どんよりとした電子音等を用いた”Aguas Territoriales”のみなぎる直尺の2曲を両面で収録。もりもりと迫力を増してくる音像がまたすごいです。状態悪いものも多いですが、大変貴重なコンディションで入荷しました。
