Arco Iris, one of Argentina's most representative bands, was formed in 1967 around Gustavo Santaolalla, who later gained fame as a record producer. The group pioneered the fusion of indigenous music and rock. They were also known for living communally, practicing abstinence and vegetarianism, abstaining from alcohol and drugs, and devoting themselves to Eastern religions. This album, their third released in 1972, is considered their pinnacle work, a unique piece embodying influences from various genres. While many associate them with a progressive rock image, this album defies that expectation, showcasing a musicality spanning folklore, blues, jazz, and Latin that expands the possibilities of rock. A dense double album with 27 tracks. Side C, in particular, flows wonderfully. This is an essential work when discussing Argentine rock. The disc looks mostly clean, but there is a line scratch on D1 and feel few crackling spots, it's in good condition. Landscape label. The jacket is a gatefold style; there are some tears and stains, but it's not too bad.
後にレコードプロデューサーとして有名になるGustavo Santaolallaを中心に67年に結成されたアルゼンチンを代表するバンドのひとつArco Iris。グループは土着音楽とロックを融合させた先駆でもあり、また共同生活を送り禁欲と菜食主義を実践しアルコールと薬物を断ち東洋の宗教に傾倒していた事でも広く知られています。本作はその中でも様々なジャンルからの影響を形にしたユニークな作品でグループ最高峰とも言われる72年のサードアルバム。プログレ的イメージを持つ人も多いと思いますがそれを覆すようなロックの可能性を広めたフォルクローレ、ブルース、ジャズ、ラテンにまたがる音楽性を示しています。二枚組全27曲入りの大作。特にC面は素晴らしい流れ。アルゼンチン・ロックを語る上では外せない作品です。盤面全体的に綺麗ですがD1にライン上のスクラッチ(視聴確認ください)、その他少しカサカサする箇所ありますが良好なコンディションの部類と思います。風景ラベル。ジャケット見開き仕様、少し破れや汚れありますがそこまで悪くはないかなというところです。
