A multi-instrumentalist/composer Anthony Ranieri who has been studying piano/composition since the 1970s in Chicago area, and in the 1980s he learned shakuhachi, gamelan, sitar, and continues to actively create. This is a private work released in 1983. Side A features contemporary experimental sounds improvised using piano, voice, and tape, and side B features a piano solo by the artist himself. Including, "Poured Out Like Water" seems to bring avant-garde elements to the forefront, organic contemporary piece "Garden" using water and bird calls, and postmodern piano solos "Lethe" and "Sisyphus". A great piece that more and more people should know about. Close to NM condition.
70年代よりシカゴをベースにピアノ/作曲を学び、80年代に入ると尺八、ガムラン、シタールまで習得し意欲的に制作活動をつづけたマルチ奏者/作曲家Anthony Ranieri。本作は83年にリリースされたプライベート作品。ピアノ、声、テープを素材に即興演奏されたコンテンポラリー・エクスペリメンタル・サウンドをA面、自身によるピアノソロをB面に収録。前衛要素が前面に出されたような”Poured Out Like Water”、水や鳥の鳴き声を使った有機コンテンポラリー”Garden”、ポストモダン的ピアノソロ”Lethe”, "Sisyphus"を筆頭に湧き出てくるようなサウンド。もっと多くの方に知ってもらいたい秀作。デッドストックに近いNMコンデションです。
