The 1988 debut album by Alfombra Magica, a trio featuring three key figures of the Argentine music scene - Quique Sinesi, one of Argentina’s leading guitarists who has built his career since the 1970s as exemplified by his early collaborations with César Franov and folklore-jazz works on this Alfombra Magica, and has achieved significant success in Japan and continues to perform to this day, bassist Matías González, who has long been active like a Dino Saluzzi and circles of Melopea, and Horacio López who, in addition to his work with La Sonora del Plata, has long supported the scene as a renowned session musician. Side A features folklore jazz track “Corazón Carnavalero” where pulsating percussion, flowing guitar, and the lustrous tone of the electric bass are exquisitely arranged, with the interplay being a highlight, and “Mañana De Luz” which begins like a twilight session and unfolds into elegant jazz. Side B features “Murga Porteña” a dance percussion piece typical of carnivals, and smooth folklore jazz “Chacarera Del Empedrado” driven by the bass. A wonderful album. Produced by Litto Nebbia. キャリア初期のCésar Franovとの共作、このAlfombra Magicaでの先鋭的なフォルクローレ・ジャズ諸作に代表されるように70年代からキャリアを築き、日本でも多くの実績を残し現在に至るまで活動を続けるアルゼンチンを代表するギタリストの一人Quique Sinesi、Dino SaluzziやMelopea界隈で長く活躍したベース奏者Matías González、La Sonora del Plataでの活動の他に名バイプレイヤーとしてもシーンを支えたHoracio Lópezの三者によるAlfombra Magicaによる88年の初作。脈打つパーカッション、流れるようなギター、艶を与えるようなエレクトリック・ベースの音色が絶妙に配されインタープレイも聴き所なフォルクローレ・ジャズ”Corazón Carnavalero”と夕暮れのセッションを聴くような冒頭から流麗なジャズへ展開する”Mañana De Luz”のA面。カーニバル等で表現されるダンス・パーカッション”Murga Porteña”にベースを主体にスムースなフォルクローレ・ジャズを聞かせる”Chacarera Del Empedrado”を収録したB面。素晴らしい作品。プロデュースはLitto Nebbia。A2ラストに薄傷ありクリックノイズ少し鳴りますがそれ以外は再生良好。久々の入荷です。
