1982 double album features American double bassist/multi-instrumentalist Alan Silva, who was active in France, leading a nearly 30-member American-French jazz orchestra including Arthur Doyle, Bernard Vitet, and Itaru Oki. The standout track is "Desert Mirage" a 20-minute hypnotic performance that, as the title suggests, seems to drift in search of light. It's a masterpiece that evokes a jazz-meets-fourth worldview. Other highlights include "After Coda" which showcases quality organic spiritual jazz, and free jazz piece "February The Third (1st Part)" that builds to a passionate and intense development in the latter half. Highly recommended.
