Akira Inoue, one of genius musicians in Japan, who has been involved in a wide range of activities for many years, including composing/arranging for famous artists, music for media such as movies, TV, a wide range of solo works that have been accepted even by the core audience, such as Karsavina. This work is a collaborative work of music and art created in 1986 called "Tokyo Installation". A total of 12 tracks created with the theme of a different dimension of ethnic music that combines modern Japanese music centered on the koto and contemporary rock, which were influenced at the tim. It's all instrumental, in particular "Runway Lights" which Inoue expanded from the instrumental demo tape of Shogo Hamada's composition with his own interpretation and spun out and echoed with Hideo Yamaki's balafon and Tsuyoshi Kon's guitar, "Pointille’City" depicts a sparkling sound image created using a minimal musical method with effective intonation, "On The Shore", a down-tempo style inspired by water such as rivers and lakes that uses the sound of water as a material, and closing track "Station Only For Myself", a lyrical instrumental ballad composed by Yutaka Ozaki, are Impressive. This album has been highlighted as a work featuring Bill Bruford of King Crimson, Shogo Hamada and Yutaka Ozaki (both are very famous mejour artist), but once again, think it is an artistic work made possible by Inoue's ship. 著名アーティストの作編曲から映画、TV等のメディアの為の音楽、カルサヴィーナに代表されるコア層にまで受け入れられるような幅広いソロ作品の数々など、多岐に渡る活動を高いレベルで表現し続ける天才音楽家 井上艦。本作は86年に制作された音楽とアートのコラボレーション作品”Tokyo Installation”。当時影響を受けていたという琴を中心とした現代邦楽とコンテンポラリー・ロックを組み合わせた異次元の民族音楽をテーマに作り上げられた全12曲。全てインストの構成で間違いないですが、とりわけ浜田省吾作曲のインストデモテープ音源から井上が自らの解釈で広げ、山木秀夫のバラフォンや今剛のギターで紡ぎ出され響いていく”滑走路夕景”、抑揚を効かせながらミニマル・ミュージックな手法で制作された煌めく音像を描く”点描の都市”、水音を素材にも用いた川、湖など水をイメージしたダウンテンポ調”水辺にて”、最後を締める尾崎豊作曲の叙情的インスト・バラード曲”たった独りのための駅”は特に目を引きます。キングクリムゾンのBill Bruford、浜田省吾、尾崎豊が参加した作品としてクローズアップされてますが、改めて井上艦あってのアーティスティックな作品であると思います。稀少なブックレット付のオリジナル美品です。
