Choho Miyara, a composer who was born in Yaeyama before World War II and left over 100 songs, which are said to be called “Miyara Music”. This is the second work in the series, selected from among them, focusing on beloved songs. Highlights include "Koinayunta" one of the beautiful his representative songs sung by the chorus group Tiny Shop, who also participated in the master island piece "Yoron Island" which combines Yoron Min'yō and rare grooves, groovy "Ashimijibushi" by Hiroko Minei and Tadao Hazama, “Yama no Komoriuta” sung gently and grandly, and “Yaeyama Ondo” which reminds one of the magnificent scenery of Yaeyama. A wonderful compilation album that introduces songs that have been passed down in Yaeyama since old times.

100曲を超えるとも言われる宮良音楽とも称される楽曲を残し戦前の八重山が生んだ作曲家宮良長包。本作はその中でも愛唱歌に絞り選曲されたシリーズ二作目となる作品。とりわけ与論民謡とレアグルーブを併せた名作”ヨロン島”にも参加していたコーラスグループタイニー・ショップが唄う美しい代表曲のひとつ”コイナユンタ”、嶺井浩子と玻座真忠雄による風情豊かな”汗水節”、優しく雄大に歌い上げられる”山の子守唄”、壮大な景観を思い浮かばせるような”八重山音頭”あたりは聴き所。古くより八重山に伝わる楽曲を紹介した素晴らしいコンピレーションアルバム。
