Yoron Island, located on the upper part of Okinawa main island, is known as an isolated island in the middle of the ocean. Here is a record produced for the purpose of promoting tourism with the cooperation of Kansai Music Planning, with the members of Yoron Island Min'yō Preservation Society that have been handed down on this island. The A-side includes a narration and a Yoron Min'yō song performed by members, think this A-side is the main attraction of record, but B side, where the composers Akira Nakagawa and Yoshinari Nashiki acted as directors and arranged the Min'yō songs is best listening part. Includes "Ikintou" a beautiful urban funk tune that starts with the sound of shamisen, "Rappa-bushi" with a dope funk arrangement, beautiful easy listening arrangement of "Michi Ikintou" a song said to be native to the island, "Jangjara-bushi" which moves from a mellow female vocal to a funky. It's also fun to compare with the original Min'yō song. Rare piece from small private label.
沖縄本島の上部に位置する絶海の孤島として知られる与論島。この島でうたい継がれてきた民謡を保存会メンバーが中心となって関西音楽企画の協力の元、観光促進を目的に制作されたレコードがこちら。A面ではナレーションと共に保存会メンバーの演奏による与論民謡を収録、このレコードの大きな名目は与論民謡を収録したA面にあると思いますが、作曲家 中川昌や梨木良成がディレクターを務めアレンジメントを手掛けた楽曲が並ぶB面がやはり最大の聞き所。琉球を思わせる音色から始まるアーバン・ファンク風の”イキントウ”、ドープなファンクアレンジがたまらない”ラッパ節”、島固有の曲だという”道イキントウ”の美しいイージーリスニング・アレンジ曲、女性ヴォーカルのメロウな展開からファンキーな展開へ移る”ジャンジャラ節”など素晴らしい内容。原曲との聴き比べも楽しいです。小さなプライベートレーベルからリリースされた稀少盤。
